Andranomadio is a 100-bed hospital located in the town of Antsirabe in central Madagascar. It is supported by the Malagasy Lutheran Church, and cares for patients regardless of ability to pay. The hospital is the main medical center for the surrounding population of two million people, and cares for around 5000 inpatients and 15,000 outpatients per year. There is a full-time staff of eight physicians and two dentists. The hospital complex includes an operating room, medical, surgical, and maternity wards, a dental clinic, a tuberculosis treatment center, a pharmacy, and a new high-acuity ward. Diagnostic capabilities include Xrays, ultrasound, and a basic laboratory.
