Oxygen is a big need for the hospital. Although there are oxygen tanks available in Antsirabe, they are very expensive, and this life-saving treatment is beyond the reach financially for many patients. Often, families are put in the agonizing position of having to turn off the oxygen for a loved one because they can no longer afford to pay for it. We urgently need someone to help us procure an oxygen concentrator. These relatively inexpensive devices run off electricity, and can separate oxygen from room air. Some are even able to fill oxygen canisters. Two or three oxygen concentrators for the hospital would eliminate the hospital’s dependency on external suppliers of oxygen, and would save many lives.
